Hey Zooskers --

What are some of your worst pet peeves on a date? Do you hate bad table manners, like when your date chews with their mouth open and talks with their mouth full? Do you loathe it when someone uses their cell phone, texting or answering calls, when you are spending time with them? Or is it more about someone's interpersonal skills, like when someone talks about themselves constantly and forgets to ask you questions about what's going on in your life?

Let's hear them: what are YOUR worst pet peeves when you're on a date with a potential match?

I'll tell you mine! Bad eye contact and bad listening skills. I hate it when I'm with someone who refuses to look me in the eye. It either comes off as rude or as completely too indifferent. Also, good listening skills are important to me, so when someone doesn't have them, it's an automatic dealbreaker.

i would def have to say my biggest pet peeves are when people are late for a date....lateness absolutely drives me nuts....another thing i dont like is when you pick up your phone when we are going out....i understand you have friends but when i am trying to be romantic that drives me nuts......those are prolly my biggest pet peeve

Well my worst pet peeve is when you're on a first date, and that person goes off and hugs and says hi too everyone in the world practically. Seriously, a wave will do. Even a short hello is ok. but not sit and have a 5 minute conversation, and not even introduce me!

Ok here are mine.
1) Not making eye contact
2) Not engaging into conversations to get to know each other
3) Shy on the first date (worse one!!!)
4) Checking out other girls >_>
5) Being too forward on the first date like trying to be physically close
6) Uncomfortable, kind of goes with #5 hehe
7) Not a gentlemen on the first date (I think that, for me, determines if he respects a lady)
8) Do not dress nice, but dresses like a snob -_-
9) Speak slang, and not intellectually (grrr)
10) Do not try to keep the date interesting and exciting

Oh the phone thing is the worst for me. I understand when an emergency comes up, but it's so important to be present with each other especially when you're learning about each other. If you're busy chatting then you're missing whats going on.

Please don't ask me how many kids you want or ask me how many i would like on the first date, its just creepy. And what makes it even more sad, is this has happened to me more than once.

I would say texting. I have been with people who are constantly texting while out. They don't even think anything of it. put the phone down and try to enjoy yourself.

I think my worse pet peeve is when the date tries to turn it sensual. I'm not like most guys and I would rather wait for that until after I know who is with me. Other than that I have to agree with the phone thing. Another is when it's meet the parents time. Save that until it is time for dad to give the one eye'd glare. LOL...

also, asking me where we will honeymoon, since we live in Hawaii... dear God, really... talk about scaring someone off!!!

By far my worst pet peeve for a first date.....ANY date really is comparing me to a past BF. Or talking about a past relationship the whole time....its in the past, learn from it, move on. And yes, the phone thing is annoying but i dont think its the worst.
